When I first saw this orange cuff, I immediately thought of Hermes enamel bracelets but with a modern twist.  I have always loved shagreen and knew I had to share it with all of you!

In addition to Leigh's snakeskin and shagreen cuff collection, the Austin based jeweler enjoys working with enamel.  She uses an age old process of fusing metal and glass to create her wearable enamel art.  Leigh explains that each enamel piece is highly unique as chemical reactions take place when the powders and fragments of glass are exposed to high temperatures.  Leigh adopted this process from her mother who she credits for influencing her to become a designer.  In addition to her mom's influence, Leigh adds a stamp from the collection her grandfather started for her as a child to the back of each piece large enough to accomodate it.  It is without a doubt that her family has played a large part in the creation of the her accessories line.  Even the name, Leighelena, is a combination of Leigh's first and middle name.
